I got inspiration to make this dress from a photo I pinned. I love the back detail and the way the skirt fits but over all I’m not happy about the shell and the skirt together. I’ll probably wear the two separately but overall I learned a lot from the process.

Because this was my first  real project I didn’t  film a tutorial but I will be sure to next time I make these again now that I know what I’m doing.  I used Butterick See & Sew B5771 “Misses’ Cullotes” pattern and extended the pants down to the floor, used 3 yards of polyester chiffon fabric, which was $13 (I’m 5’2” & the pants are 45” long), an invisible zipper on the back center seam, some ribbon on the inside seams, hem, and waist band to make everything neater, and this youtube video on how to sew a pair of pants  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8dYWmIRmF4
